CRIBC Wins the Bidding for Structural Protection Research Project for Eight Wuliangye Workshop Buildings

  On November 20, Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeology Research Institute commenced the comparison and selection procedures of the structural protection research project for eight Wuliangye workshop buildings (cultural relics under national key protection) in Yibin City, and MCC Central Research Institute of Building and Construction (CRIBC) won the bidding.

  These eight workshops are all modern and contemporary buildings, and very element inside, from cellars to bricks and tiles, is a vivid display of different styles and appearances of Wuliangye workshops in different historical periods. Therefore, they are a valuable tangible cultural heritage asset. About the project, the focus will be put on conducting disease investigation, collecting cultural and historical building information with digital technologies, and carrying out structural safety identification.

  In the past years, CRIBC has made constant efforts on the field of cultural and historical architecture. It combined the major decisions and strategies by the Central Committee of the CPC on cultural heritage work and the strategic positioning of "building a special team for a field" by CRIBC, introduced advanced examination technologies into traditional heritage protection and put forward a set of protection methods integrating "diagnosis and treatment" that are suitable for cultural and historical architecture. With these efforts, it has achieved solid progress in the preventive protection of cultural and historical architecture.
